Seven years ago, just before Chris’ 22nd birthday, he was injured in Dumont Dunes, California aboard his Honda CRF 450. They were there on a road trip for MX Machine Magazine and filming for the new Crusty Demons of Dirt video. While there, he happened to be riding at a high rate of speed at the front of a pack of the world’s best Freestyle Motocross Riders and Friends across the base of the Sand Dunes. At the time the light was very flat and he unknowingly went off the back of a blind dune. To put it mildly, it caused him severe injury (Broken Wrist, Dislocated Shoulders, Collapsed Lungs, Shattered Pelvis, Broken Ribs and a C-2 Spinal Cord Injury). Luckily, one of his friends had a Forestry survival Kit and and some others knew CPR and that kept him alive for over an hour and a half until the paramedics arrived. He was then airlifted by an army Black Hawk helicopter from Fort Irwin to Loma Linda University Hospital where he was then in a coma for 3 1/2 weeks. Chris is now permanently on a ventilator at home with a great group of nurses.

The rest of Chris’ story will be up soon, but it may take some time as we are trying not to miss any part of it!
